Wow…two weeks with no solid food.  Feeling great.  I just finished juicing up another batch and I’ll be heading out soon to buy more supplies.

yoga for weight lossI also signed up for some mens yoga classes, which I start on Tuesday.  I hope it doesn’t go the way my last attempt.  This was about 3 years ago and as I was trying one of the “poses”, I felt some gases escaping.  I nearly cleared the room and was so embarrassed that I never returned. Wish me luck on Tuesday 🙂

Juice fast

Friday the 13th huh?  No fear!  Pretty excited to see another 2 lbs. of fat leave my body. In the next day or two I should be under 280 with a new goal of reaching 270 within the next week to week and a half.  When i reach that goal of 270, I’ll be the same weight I was 10 years ago…and it will only get better 🙂

Another beautiful day here on Vancouver Island, BC. I have a client meeting this morning, then off to buy some more liquid sunshine.  Then a nice long walk with my dog.  I love the energy I’m feeling!

And so ends yet another day.  I’m feeling OK, except I haven’t had a bowel movement in almost 2 weeks.  My guys feel in a turmoil, as if there is tension in my stomach.  I am so looking forward to Laura’s visit on Monday with that “Herb Cocktail Colon Cleanse” (available at Avena Originals ). She assures me that this will get things moving again….I sure hope so.

Aside from the stomach / bowels not feeling right, I feel amazing.  My friend Al commented that he could see the difference in me, not only physically, but also in the way I was walking faster and without breathing as hard.

liquid sunshineOnce again, stuck at no weight loss.  Overall, not too bad I guess.  Down 21
pounds in 12 days, so almost an average of 2 lbs. per day. I still have 6 juice portions in the fridge so I’m all set for the day.  I need to stock up on supplies again and hope to juice another large batch later today.  I like to be ahead of the game a bit if I can.  I’m thinking I may add my daily graph here as well to show my total weight loss.  I started at 303 on May 1st and today at 282.

Day 11 here. A bit of a rough day yesterday, but I made it!  Had a great sleep last night and I have a fridge full of juices to last me for two days. More time for walking 🙂

Juice dietA friend of mine on Facebook suggested a product called “Herb Cocktail Colon Cleanse” available at Avena Originals. Since this is outside Nanaimo and since he will near my place on Monday, she graciously offered to drop off a bottle for me 🙂  Thanks Laura!  I’m hoping this will get things moving again.

Well, day 11 is drawing to a close. This day was much better than yesterday was, where I was feeling so hungry. I think the problem was that I allowed myself to get hungry earlier in the day and never really caught up.

Prior to this juice reboot, I had a bad habit…well, quite a few bad habits actually. One of them was having two cups of coffee in the morning, along with some breakfast. I would then start my work day and often wouldn’t think of eating (or drinking) the rest of the day, until about 5 pm when I became famished. I would then wolf down a large meal and later realize the last thing I drank was the coffee in the morning.

Yesterday I did something similar. I had my breakfast (mean green juice) and then went to work. I felt hunger pangs but ignored them as I was trying to finish a project. By mid-afternoon I was famished so had two juices (see the pattern?).

But, that was yesterday. Today, armed with about 12 pre-made juices I ensured that I had a juice about every 2 – 2 1/2 hours. Then in the evening I had my protein shake. As well, in between each juice I made sure to drink almost a liter of water, so I was well hydrated today lol. Oh yeah…a few glasses of coconut water interspersed throughout the day.

To top it off, went on a nice walk with the dog – about 6 km ( that’s about 4 miles for you ‘mericans 🙂 )

weight loss by juicingAnother gorgeous day.  The sun is shining and it promises to be about 22C this afternoon.  I finally hit 20 lbs. of weight loss, although I seem to have plateaued somewhat.  I hear gurglings in my bowels for the last day so I suspect a movement is imminent. Having my first juice of the day as I type this.  

I read something last night about drinking some hot water with a piece of lemon, first thing in the morning.  I think I’ll need to see what that is all about and what its possible benefits are.

Today I will ensure to drink lots of water.  I try to remind myself, but it’s so easy to forget – I’ve set hourly reminders on my phone – I hope this helps. Tonight I will prepare a lemon so that tomorrow all I need to do is add warm water and drink up before I take my morning walk with the dog. can’t hurt 🙂

Later the same day…

Hi everyone. I’ve been on this juicing for 10 days now and I will admit, at times it’s tough. I was hoping the hunger would be gone by now, but today was especially difficult. I read that the most common reason for hunger is not enough juices and / or not enough water. It’s 7 pm here and I’ve already had 6 juices and at least 2 liters of water. That, along with almost a liter of coconut water.

What I do know is this. I’m sick and tired of feeling this way, so I feel very determined. When this feels almost unbearable, I go for a walk, take some deep breathes, smoke a joint…do what I need to do to make it to the next day.

I just made a huge batch so lots of supplies in the fridge for tomorrow.

weight loss through juicingOk, a new day.  No weight loss this morning, but again, no bowel movement for a week. I’m guessing once that happens, weight will again drop.

I’m finally seeing my doctor today as well. I’ve been documenting my blood sugar levels along with my blood pressure and have charted everything for him to see.  he may not be too pleased that I have been self-medicating (reducing my diabetes meds), but we’ll see.  Overall I’m very happy with my progress 🙂

Well, the doctor was happy with what he saw but did have some questions about my caloric and protein intake.  I found some information on the “Reboot” App which suggests the following per every two mean green juices:

  • Calories = 251
  • Proteins = 6 g
  • Carbs = 54 g
  • Fat = 1 g
  • Saturated fat = 0 g
  • Fiber = 2 g
  • Sugar = 30 g
  • Salt = 128 mg

So, having 6 juices per day suggests that I am having 753 calories and 18 g protein. With the protein drink at night (16 g), that totals 34 g of protein each day.  That works 🙂

Juice fastHappy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there.

A cooler, windy but sunny day again today.  I was hoping to reach 20 pounds my first week, but 19 is pretty darn close 🙂  I had an amazing sleep – 9 hours which is something I haven’t had in several years.

Since Christmas I have been suffering with bursitis in both shoulders. For those who might not know, bursitis is inflammation on the bursa (a fluid filled sac between bone and muscle). Since inflammation can be caused (or aggravated) by a poor diet, I was hoping this reboot may alleviate some of that pain.  Having the shoulders affected meant it was difficult to sleep on either side, leaving my back as an only option. It may be too early to tell, but I think I am seeing an improvement!  I’ll keep you all in the loop as time progresses.

Off to drink my first juice of the day.

It’s now 2 pm.  I decided to time myself so see how long it takes me to prepare my juices (6 of them) for the day. From the start, washing and laying out, then cutting some of the fruits and veggies, to juicing them and the cleanup afterwards is pretty much exactly 1 hour.  Not too bad considering these are my meals for the whole day 🙂

Having a weird sensation today. For some reason I feel like I’m stoned today lol.  I swear, I didn’t smoke anything (today), but it feels like I did? Weird, but pleasant 🙂
