Total Weight Loss: 46 pounds

Oops.  Yesterday I lost a pound after a 3 day plateau. Today I gained that pound back. It looks like these last 7 pounds may be hard-won. Twelve more days to go.

juice rebootIt looks like we are in for a rain-filled weekend.  That’s OK as I’m in the mood to just relax – it is Saturday after all 🙂  I do have a couple of hours of work to do today and I want to plant my kale seedlings outside as they are getting a little “leggy”.  Aside from that, some walks with the dog and off to the grocery store to stock up n more veggies. Big juice day tomorrow again – trying to make enough for 2-3 days at a time.

Tomorrow I begin week number 8!

Was slow for work for the longest time and now suddenly all H breaks lose lol. I guess I really can’t complain as this just means more income – which is always nice.

Today I finally lost another pound after hitting another 3 day plateau. Three more and I’ve reached my goal of 50 pounds, but I still have 13 days to go. I’m guessing I may lose more than the 50 pounds I was aiming for.

At least the sun is shining 🙂  All is good.  Seven more pounds to go and 15 days in which to do it !

kale used in a reboot juiceSo, I also decided to try my hand at growing kale. Turns out you can grow this pretty much year round n this area. So, about 10 days ago I bought some seeds, a tray with a lid and already I have shoots that are about 2 inches high. I hope to transplant outside this weekend and watch these babies grow 🙂

Good morning everyone!  Sixteen more days until I start to transition to foods…getting excited 🙂

So, I went to see my doctor yesterday. I was able to reduce my diabetes medications again, so I am now down to ONE pill per day, or SEVEN per week. This is down from FOURTY TWO pills per week just 2 months ago.

juice rebootI mentioned on an earlier post that there was some concern about my heart rate. Since I started checking the last week of May, it has been consistently low – usually anywhere from 45-55 beats per minute. My last doctor visit I was referred to get an ECG which indicated no issues with my sinus rhythm so now I am being referred to get a 24 hour heart monitor, wearing a halter of some sort. I guess we’ll see what new joy this brings 🙂

Work has picked up again, so this is a good thing. My bursitis is also settling down. I’ve been using a TENS machine lately and that really seems to help. That along with paying real close attention to my posture while at my computer.

juice reboot and proteinStarting week 7 today. No weight change though. I’m back to see  my doctor tomorrow as a follow-up on some blood tests. I am particularly interested in finding out about my protein levels. I have mentioned in previous posts that I have been suffering from bursitis in both shoulders and lately that pain seems to be radiating downwards towards my biceps and triceps. I just assumed that this was a muscle reaction to the bursitis. Because of pain there, maybe I am reacting to this by injuring other, connected areas. My concern though, is that if I do not get enough protein, that instead of burning fat, my body starts to eat away at muscle tissue. It’s not like I can afford that 🙂

They say a male should be getting 56 g of protein per day:

  • 5 mean green drinks @ 3 g protein each = 15g
  • 2 boiled eggs in the am @ 13 g each = 26
  • Protein drink each evening = 20 g

That totals 61 grams each day.  Anyways, more to follow.  Maybe I’m just being overly cautious?
