weight gainYIKES!  That pound I lost yesterday?  Well, it’s back. So, I went back to the forums at the Reboot with Joe website and found that yes, this does happen occasionally.  I was really hoping to hit 250 by the end of June, but this is starting to look further away now. That would mean I would need to lose another 19 pounds in the next 26 days.  I guess it’s still possible, but when I have a day like today, it seems even further away.

Trying not to whine here lol.

I just found this article – very encouraging 🙂  Do I seem a bit manic?

Tomorrow I start week 6 🙂

Whoohoo – another pound gone.  This is definitely slowing down. I’m trying to stay positive and focus on what’s happening inside my body that I cant see or measure. I made another huge batch today.  My golden turmeric paste didn’t turn out so well as when I put it in the fridge, it became hard a a rock.  I’m going to try and return this to room temperature today and see what happens with it.

plant based dietOK, no weight loss again today.  This is day one of my second month and only 30 more days to go! I just received a book I ordered on line to try and help prepare me for when I do transition again to solid foods.  As I mentioned in a previous post, I was hoping to maintain by going on a plant based diet. So, I bought the book “Plant-Based Diet For Dummies“.

I was out shopping today and decided to switch things up a a bit. I’m always looking for good deals on kale, but today I thought I’d try a batch with swiss chard.  I’ll let you know how this goes.

No change in weight today. Tomorrow I start my 2nd month in this journey. I’m quite happy with my progress so far and I’m excited to see what happens in this second month. Here are the main benefits I’ve noticed so far:

  • Weight loss – down 34 pounds (15.4 kg)
  • Reduction in medications (down from 42 pills for my diabetes to just 14)
  • Another reduction in high blood pressure medications from 14 per week to 7
  • Energy.  I feel amazing when I wake up. I literally jump out of bed and feel ready to start my day.
  • Meralgia paraesthetica – this is a condition where a nerve gets pinched in your back after standing or walking for 10 minutes or so. It caused my right leg to go numb (like it was asleep) from my hip to knee.  This was due solely to my excess weight.  This has since disappeared 🙂
  • Clearer thinking. My mind seems sharper as well as my vision.
  • Image – I just feel better about myself and feel even more energized when people stop me to say that I’m looking better 🙂
  • Skin – Although I don’t see this, others have commented how my skin looks healthier.

And of course there are benefits that can’t really be seen. What’s happening inside my body is a complete cell regeneration. All these vegetables and fruits are helping my cells fight back and builds a stronger immune system and removes toxins from the body.

I just figured out what I have “eaten” this past month:

  • 1240 leaves of kale
  • 620 stalks of celery
  • 155 cucumbers
  • 78 lemons
  • 155 inches of ginger
  • 310 green apples

That’s a lot of nutrients blasting my body 🙂

And yet one more milestone.  I love when I break through another 10 pound mark.  Today I fell just below 270. weighing in at 269. I know the “experts” say you shouldn’t weigh yourself each day – screw that – I love to watch my progress 🙂

pineapple juice rebootYesterday I found a great deal on fresh pineapples so I bought two of them. So, I made a batch of “mean green juice”, but instead 0f the green apples, I used 1/8 of a pineapple per juice. Pineapple is supposed to be good for inflammation, so maybe this will help a bit with my shoulder bursitis. I made a large batch yesterday, giving me 12 juices. Today I want to make a (smaller) batch of the turmeric / celery / apple / ginger drink. Turmeric is also supposed to be a great thing for inflammation along with many other benefits.

Good morning anyone and everyone 🙂

reboot juicingToday I have completed 4 weeks of my juice reboot. In two days I will have completed a full month, with one month left to go. I am very happy with the results so far and I am well on my way to hit my goal of 250 pounds (that would be 20 more pounds to lose).

Later today I plan to do yet another coffee enema and will continue trying to keep drinking 10-12 cups of water and 1-2 cups of coconut water on top of my 5 cups +/- juice.
