Starting week 7 today. No weight change though. I’m back to see my doctor tomorrow as a follow-up on some blood tests. I am particularly interested in finding out about my protein levels. I have mentioned in previous posts that I have been suffering from bursitis in both shoulders and lately that pain seems to be radiating downwards towards my biceps and triceps. I just assumed that this was a muscle reaction to the bursitis. Because of pain there, maybe I am reacting to this by injuring other, connected areas. My concern though, is that if I do not get enough protein, that instead of burning fat, my body starts to eat away at muscle tissue. It’s not like I can afford that 🙂
They say a male should be getting 56 g of protein per day:
- 5 mean green drinks @ 3 g protein each = 15g
- 2 boiled eggs in the am @ 13 g each = 26
- Protein drink each evening = 20 g
That totals 61 grams each day. Anyways, more to follow. Maybe I’m just being overly cautious?
